Christmas is Coming: More Christmas Events for this Weekend

12-days-of-xmas-carnivalNo plans for this weekend? Well it would appear that when I made my Christmas Event Guide  last week, I missed a few things out. Particularly two pretty awesome things that kick off this weekend.

First up is Twelve Days of Christmas Concerts. Kicking off this Friday at St Patrick’s Square, squares, places and streets will be transformed into performance spaces every day from the 13-24th of December.

Lisa Crawley and Princess Chelsea open the Twelve Days of Christmas Concerts this Friday from 11:30 – 1:45 pm at St Patrick’s Square. Head along for food trucks and good tunes. Each day a new line up will be posted here.

Also kicking off tomorrow night is Childfund’s, ‘Something’s Growing Down at Queen’s Wharf.’ It’s an opportunity to show case Childfund’s alternative gifts for children and families in need (Check them out here) while giving Aucklander’s a Christmas Party. There’ll be art, music, markets, food and more.

It all begins tomorrow night as the gift starts to grow and will flow on in to Saturday. I’m particularly intrigued by the sound of the featured exhibition, ‘Everybody has a spirit animal.’ 20 artists from around the world have produced works exploring the Native American idea of the spirit animal.

Are there any other great Christmas events that I’ve missed?
